ANALISIS NILAI INDEKS WALKABILITY PADA FASILITAS PEJALAN KAKI DI KAWASAN PUSAT KOTA BANDAR LAMPUNG
Abstract
The inability of cities to meet the need for good and comfortable pedestrian paths is a problem in Indonesia. Research from Stanford University states that Indonesia ranks first among countries with the laziest pedestrians in the world. The focus of this research is to identify the walkability index value of the study object. Raden Intan Street is one of the iconic commercial road corridors located in the city center, directly connected to Tugu Adipura as a landmark of Bandar Lampung city. The research method uses a qualitative descriptive method in the form of field observations and data analysis using the Walkability Survey in Asian Cities by James Leather (2011) and walkability according to Dom (2010). The results show that the walkability index value of Raden Intan Street and Tugu Adipura is very low, at 36.70 (not walkable). This value indicates that the Raden Intan Street and Tugu Adipura areas are in great need of improvement and enhancement of their pedestrian facilities.
