It focuses on the development and application of technologies in the field of Earth sciences including but not limited to: Geophysics, Geology, Geochemistry, Geodesy, Geomorphology, Seismology, Volcanology, Hydrology, Geodynamics, Atmospheric science, Environmental geoscience, Remote sensing and Earth observation, with a strong commitment to open science. With a specific focus on open technologies, this journal promotes the principles of transparency, reproducibility, and collaboration in Earth sciences by encouraging authors to share their tools, workflows, and datasets openly that can be reused by others in the community.

The journal accepts submissions from researchers worldwide and publishes articles exclusively in English. JOTG is published biannually (two issues per year) and welcomes two types of submissions: Full-length research articles and Short communications.

Our editorial board consists of experienced scholars and practitioners who are active in their respective fields, supported by a team of expert reviewers. We are committed to providing a fast and transparent editorial process, ensuring authors receive prompt feedback and that accepted articles are published without unnecessary delay.

By publishing in JOTG, authors contribute to a growing ecosystem of open geoscience and benefit from the visibility, credibility, and community engagement fostered by our journal.
