About the Journal

JES-GI (Journal of Earth Science and Geomatics Indonesia) is a peer-reviewed academic journal managed and published by LPPM Institut Teknologi Sumatera in Indonesia. The journal serves as a platform for researchers, professionals, and academics from Indonesia and other countries to publish high-quality scientific articles in the fields of geodesy, geomatics, and related geospatial sciences.

JES-GI is committed to disseminating current research findings and fostering scholarly exchange at national and international levels. The journal welcomes authors and research from all countries and regions worldwide, provided that the submitted manuscripts are relevant to the journal’s focus and scope.

JES-GI is an electronic journal that was first published in June 2026 and is published twice a year, in June and November.

Focus and Scope
The journal covers a broad range of topics including, but not limited to:

  • Geodesy and Geomatics Applications
  • Geodynamics
  • Remote Sensing
  • Natural Resources and Disaster Management
  • Cadastre and Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
  • Mapping, Surveying, and Photogrammetry
  • Geological studies directly related to geodesy and geomatics, including ground deformation, crustal movement, geological hazard mapping, terrain analysis, and geospatial modelling;
  • Geographical studies directly related to geodesy and geomatics, including spatial analysis, GIS, remote sensing, land-use mapping, regional mapping, and geospatial modelling; and
  • Spatial Science and Spatial Statistics
  • Other issues related to geodesy and geomatics engineering

All submitted manuscripts undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. The identities of both authors and reviewers are concealed during the review process. The final decision on publication is made by the Editorial Board based on the reviewers’ recommendations and the journal’s editorial standards.

Publication Schedule
JES-GI is published twice a year, in June and November. The journal was first published in June 2026.

The journal accepts manuscripts in English.

All articles published in JES-GI are free of charge. There are no article processing charges (APCs) or submission fees.
